Betfair has finally gone live on iPoker, launching online poker rooms for global players on the dot.com network and for players in the newly regulated Spanish market through the .es domain.
Betfair iPoker goes live
New Betfair Poker, as it is being called on the online gambling operator’s website, enters the iPoker Network‘s top tier, along with big names bet365, Paddy Power, Poker 770, Titan Poker, William Hill, Winner and Everest. This means it has reserved poker tables for popular cash games and Sit ‘n Go games.
Betfair’s move away from Ongame was announced with the beginning of the new year. In the first half of 2013 both networks will be made available to existing Betfair customers, after which Ongame will no longer be accessible and iPoker will be the exclusive online poker provider.
And Spain gets poker
With the move, Betfair’s Playtech-powered Spanish online poker room went live this week, just four months after the gambling operator signed a deal with the software developer in the wake of receiving licence approval.
For iPoker this is particularly significant given that PokerStars, PartyPoker and 888 have so far dominated there. For Spanish players, this means more choice for variety of games and related promos, which ultimately benefits them and makes both operators and customers happy.
